Our P.O.R.C.H. program is an alternating modular system that is now in 2020 held throughout the entire yearly season.
For the last ten years we have held modules each summer at Ponderosa in physical training, improvisational practices, performance and choreography or a synthesis of certain overlapping inquiries. The P.O.R.C.H. as you know it will be back in 2021 and this year will offer new experiments.
This summer during the month of June and July we invite professionals to come and join their self-organized residencies at Ponderosa. And in July 2020 we will be hosting a very special On-The-Road-adventure: We are looking forward to hosting our first collaborative P.O.R.C.H. module with another non-profit organization. We proudly present our Uckermark-neighbors Libken e.V., an experimental- visual arts platform and rural art project in the Brandenburg area. Stay tuned for the information and for the invitation to join us!
For autumn we highly suggest that you apply to the P.O.R.C.H. dramaturgy module in November that sets the tone for new creations and offers deep integral discourses.
This module will offer physical embodied practices and mentorship around how to view each others work. You‘re welcome to come with a performance piece you are working on or a piece that you can recreate on other performers. We aim to invent a collective force that proposes what dramaturgy could be for professional freelancers outside funded or academic settings.
We‘re looking forward for your application!
The P.O.R.C.H. Dramaturgy Module will take place from 2. to 29. November, 2020.
To apply, please send a current Curriculum Vitae and an accompanying letter of interest, which outlines your reasons for feeling that you are well-suited to participating in PO.R.C.H. 2020, by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
To ensure that participants receive individual and unique mentoring, consideration, and feedback, places in all modules are strictly limited, and we recommend applying early.
Applicants may be interested in researching options for available funding for covering costs (outlined here) involved in participating in P.O.R.C.H. 2020.
As art-makers and supporters, we are in the field of professional pretending. We find ourselves navigating without blueprints or reliable maps. We embark on many journeys with self-built compasses and overheard rumors about the stars. Our accumulated, precarious piles of knowledge are composed through years of random encounters, web searches and gates opened by others.
It is often the case that we stumble upon the dramaturgical role, a clearing located on the crossroad of many paths. We come from dance, theatre, theory, visual arts, literature, we bring our heritage into our practice as we craft our eyes, ears and mouths into working tools. The P.O.R.C.H. Dramaturgy Module is a space of reflection and experimentation around what dramaturgy is. We wish to foster individual approaches through a communal gathering of colleagues.
Facilitated by Yoav Admoni, Sharon Zuckerman Weiser, Stephanie Maher and Peter Pleyer.
P.O.R.C.H. honours the wisdom of experience in our intergenerational mentor program and inspires participants to learn communally and independently. Our international program and networking opportunities will give you many opportunities to discover new friendships, collaborations and a look into the contemporary art scene of Berlin.
