Everything that happens at Ponderosa is a result of the combined work of two different organisations. There is Ponderosa e.V., which is the nonprofit members’ organisation that organises all of the events and workshops. Alongside this, there is Seminarhaus Stolzenhagen GmbH, which runs everything that is part of the practical underlying support that is required for Ponderosa to be able to function.
The basic rule of thumb is that Ponderosa e.V. looks after the art, and Seminarhaus Stolzenhagen GmbH looks after the food and accommodation.
Seminarhaus Stolzenhagen is also the entity that runs the titular seminar house itself, which is down in the village, a short walk away from Ponderosa. The house, which we all usually call Taubenblau, is a nineteenth-century country villa.
Roughly speaking, the quiet healing, family-gathering, yoga, and similar events tend to happen down in Taubenblau, and the freak improvisation hysteria weirdness and performative rainbows happens up here at Ponderosa. It’s not an absolute rule, but it tends to mostly work that way.
However, the practicalities of running both places (mostly food and accommodation) is all still handled by Seminarhaus Stolzenhagen as an entity, while Ponderosa e.V. runs the events and workshops.
We know that it can occasionally be frustrating to have to deal with these two separate entities. However, it ultimately makes everything else run much more smoothly. Contact us if you have any questions.
