We have Schwerpunkte (focal points) at Ponderosa — practices that we have maintained over decades, and to which we regularly return. Two of the most important and long-lasting of these focal points are contact improvisation and yoga.
We will be adding more information about contact improvisation at Ponderosa to this page over the coming months — watch this space!
Yoga at Ponderosa integrates yoga and spiritual practices within a colourful and artistically-inclined context.
Ponderosa has activities happening year-round, but mainly throughout the summer. There are dance workshops, loud parties, children running around, people building, all kinds of stuff. and also doing daily/weekly yoga classes. There is enough country to have a solitary walk and there Is enough space for a quiet meditation. Vegetarian meals will be prepared, using as many ingredients as possible from the Ponderosa gardens. The Ponderosa Yoga workshops offered at Ponderosa will surely give you the opportunity to delve into various yoga teachings along with meditations which are designed to give you an experience of your deepest, creative nature. For a private and more solitary retreat we will host Yoga workshops in our neighboring TaubenBlau Seminar Haus.
Yoga teachers: Panch Nishan, Kyla Maher, Carol Manchester, Adi Brief, (Kundalini), Yellow Yoga (mix), Andrea Lutz, Abby Crain (Ashtanga), Elizabeth Smullens, Jen Polins (Iyengar).
What’s up with the Kundalini Yoga? For the last 4 years, the P.O.R.C.H. program has included exclusively Kundalini Yoga in its curriculum. Our prinicipal mission is not to get fixated or idealistic about any one form.
Last but not least, reality can be boring. We are all in it and we all do it. Do not be afraid of the esoteric, bizarre or totally out-there journey while staying at Ponderosa! At Ponderosa / P.O.R.C.H. we will surely bring your feet back to the earth before you head home.
