EnQueery Within is on the way! A weekend to move, to dance, to discover, to touch, to be present — a weekend of contact improvisation creating space for FLTI* communities.
This weekend aims to create a queer, feminist safer space, a place to center women, femmes, transgender and intersex folks, butches, dykes, and bi’s, with any and all levels of experience, and from all backgrounds.
The facilitators, Diana Thielen and Kata Kovács, describe it like this:
“This weekend will be a loosely-facilitated space, allowing for dance and research, rest and walks. The Living Library will be available for us. Let’s explore intimacy, trust, the space around us, and our movements, together. With our diverse bodies, we’ll share weight, touch, contact, movement, and dances, and pave the way for healing from heteronormativity and gender normativity — in the dance and movement world, and beyond.”
The weekend of EnQueery Within has some practicalities associated with it, which are outlined on the page for the event — specifics around sleeping, cooking, surroundings, and language. Take a look to get all the info.
Additionally, the application process requires potential participants to get in touch by email in advance, so that the facilitators can try to ensure that there is a shared awareness of the political and social intentions that underlie this event.
The early-bird deadline for applying is March 9., which is coming up fast! So, jump over to the full details now, and see you here in April!
The Ponderosa Blog is an ongoing experiment in putting one foot in front of the other, and one word after another, to transfer ideas in ones and zeroes to minds around the world and beyond. A rumble from a ruined speaker to maybe bring the gov’t. down, one sorry heart at a time. xo
