AIR - ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE

Artists in Residence program

We would like to offer our resources in the special surroundings of Stolzenhagen, Germany as a support to local and international artists and explorers. Since 2000, Ponderosa has invited special guests and groups to do research, teach, perform and create work as part of the summer dance festival.

Each week and month can be different during your residency at ponderosa. We have a professional program for performing artists - P.O.R.C.H. and an ongoing workshop program and still some studios are empty!

We provide the environment for international cultural exchange within multidisciplinary mediums, with simple working spaces, ruins that are forever changing, and  an inspiring landscape in the National Park Odertal. An hour and a half outside Berlin, provides a small gateway to connecting with local art makers and other organizations or performing venues.

What do we offer?

We offer the spaces and facilities at a discount price in relation to the artists financial situation. We expect visitors to participate in daily living tasks and we offer longer work exchange opportunities upon application. We also invite visiting artists to propose independent studies or laboratory/ studio practices and there are possible teaching opportunities  available.

We are especially looking for visual artists, writers, alchemists, permaculture gardeners, and people interested in sustainable economies and technologies. Pay special attention to the difference in prices relating to our professional catering services (June/ July) or do it your self months (April/ May/ Aug/ Sept).

We are currently focused on developing a collaborative exchange with our Polish neighbors, and continue to extend this invitation to Berlin's sister city, San Francisco. We hope to accommodate as many guests and groups as possible, with a vision of offering housing, performance opportunities, studio space and networking opportunities.

Ponderosa TanzLand Festival is still relatively new, with 2013 marking the 12th year. We are open to becoming partners in European programs.
