PONDEROSA ONGOING RESEARCH COLLABORATION HAPPENINGS
Performance module-July 8-August 3 Led by Stephanie Maher, Peter Pleyer & Guests
Application Deadline June 15th!!
P.O.R.C.H. Performance module uses Ponderosa's international public audience and it's space to prepare their conceptual stage. Ponderosa is teaming with activity in the month of July hosting intensive workshops, concerts, films and performances.
The Performance module uses this event, however small or large, to create some performative action each day. The module, purposely, coincides with the Ponderosa festival atmosphere. We maintain the module group by gathering everyday for at least 2 hours, to focus, physically tune our bodies or co-ordinate performance events.
Participants must be able to work within this activity and be able to spare or focus their energy. The priority is the act of performance and conversations with our chosen performance module group & coaches.
P.O.R.C.H. Performance module commits participants to dreaming-up, devising, creating and performing inclusive & spontaneous actions & events throughout the public sphere of Ponderosa. All is art, nothing is art, everything is art: We are a Multi-disciplinary-medium of Body, Music, Voice, Site-Specific, Improvisation, Visual, Video, Light, and Dance. We will encourage and stimulate an inclusive atmosphere of creativity and dialogue with our surrounding peers and public outside eye. We are a team that invites and belongs to the public body of Ponderosa.
P.O.R.C.H.Group process
Since our purpose is to daily practice a performative action. Our group process must embrace the importance of the discussions about the results and experiences we have had as viewers and makers. Can we understand what we have presented? Can we Translate what we do to the masses? Who is invited into the experience? Is it selective, exclusively private or voyeuristic? Wether it be an improvised event, a highly structured composition or a spontaneous explosion, we are available to support one another's performative experiments.

P.O.R.C.H. professional classes
The second part of the curriculum of the performance module is to participate in one other workshop that is offered at Ponderosa. This allows you to meet the other visiting guests and to be part of the general atmosphere that is created from the group's workshop experiences in the class. Some workshops are more appropriate than others and we will suggest that the group stay together to have a similar physical process and a discussional platform to reference to. Some even have a seperate application process.
(In a conflicting situation, we are open to discussion)

We are dropping in and out but tasting a bit of everything. We are aiming at arriving at an availability to work within this makeshift community, which is our seasonal international dance public. We search to spur our interest. We co-habitant with professionals and lay men. One historic image of a dancer is someone working long isolated rehearsals, creating set choreographies in mirrored studios and raked theaters, for a one shot attempt of mastery. We are being invited to engage and to create when ever, where ever we please. We accept wild or even monotonous moments in time, if this is what our artistic concept or interest intrinsically holds.
*If you need a slower or a single focus during your creative process for developing a piece, please consider the choreographic module.

ABOUT PONDEROSA MOVEMENT & DISCOVERY
Time shifts here at ponderosa. Quick & spontaneous performance making, multimedia concerts and happenings, parties, professionalism and a laid back observing. Time to dialogue: Lets educate each other in and out of the studios. Lets bring in the political body and mind, the esoteric critic and the conceptual freak… the contrast is welcome and the structure is loose for outbreaks of anarchistic thought and action.
In the east of Germany, where we encounter the foreignness, an adventure, we find the surprise of Ponderosa. This place, which lies in the village of Stolzenhagen, in the National Park Unteres Odertal, offers Performance and intensive workshop experiences, for professionals and beginners, amongst it's ruins, in old barns, studios, including the surrounding landscape.
