Stolzenhagen is a wonderful place for children. It is an enclosed property away from streets and cars. We sit above the village of Stolzenhagen on 8 acres of land. There are gardens, small forests, a soccer field, tree houses and lots of small hidden paths and play areas for the children to discover (or get lost in!). In the surrounding area are beautiful lakes, the national park, and lots of animals to see in the village.
The non profit organization is only one part of the whole cooperative Gut Stolzenhagen e.g. The members of the cooperative are here with their children and bring many guests as well. There can be up to 10-30 kids here running around during the high summer seasons mostly ages 0-14!
We have varying standards of accommodations at Ponderosa. Families with children under 6 must find other accommodations other than our open sleeping area in Ponderosa guest house. Therefore we suggest you book early to reserve a private room, bring a tent or we will help you rent something in the village.
We can organize a babysitter for your children if we have at least 3 weeks registration time. Costs are 10 €/hour, it's less when there are 3-5 children in a small group.
Usually we have a least one childrens class during the festival, check the TanzLand programme or Summer Specials.
There's lots of space for playing at Ponderosa, but there's also dangerous areas for children. Don't go into construction areas, garages and dilapidated buildings. Also avoid the swamp bed in front of the Verwalter house.
